I built and ran this website between 2000 and 2001, combining passion for popular music and programming. It was listed by MTV's now defunct MusicNewswire as one of the then nascent web's top twenty sources, alongside Billboard and VH1. The most exciting part of it — for a 13/14-year-old excited by new music — was receiving scores of pre-release CDs from record companies. The entire project was written entirely from scratch (frameworks and libraries were not the norm back then!) in PHP linking to a MySQL database, with HTML as well as a little CSS and JavaScript for the frontend; the code is available here.

Spice Girls - Forever
11 November 2000 | 0:00:00 GMT/UTC

Forever is the long-awaited third album from the Spice Girls. Recorded over fourteen months in London, Miami and Los Angeles. Eleven tracks including Holler and Let Love Lead The Way. Opening the album is Holler, an R'n'B sounding track.

Weekend Love, track seven, begins the better half of the album, the traditional Spice Girls ballads. Anyone of these could be Christmas Number One, indeed one already has been, Goodbye was the Spice Girls' third consecutive XMAS Number One two years ago. Weekend Love does contain Mel B rapping, except for that it's alright! Following is Time Goes By, another ballad, a bit slower than Weekend Love.

Goodbye ends Forever, we're all familiar with this track. There are two types of songs on this album: the dance/R'n'B type and the ballads which feature heavily towards the end of the album.
