 Moby has blamed the US Armed Forces and intelligence agencies for failing their duty of protecting American citizens.
Ananova reports that Moby, real name Richard Hall, was woken in his New York apartment by the sound of an explosion and screaming when the World Trade Centre was attacked yesterday (11 September).
In postings on his official website, Moby said the FBI, CIA and the military "exist solely to protect us from this sort of atrocity".
He continued: "The hundreds of thousands of people who will go to sleep alone because their loved ones have been killed by international terrorists have been failed by the institutions to whom they pay taxes to protect them from this sort of unspeakable atrocity.
"I'm sorry for sounding so clinical, but I'm fucking furious. Lax security has caused the deaths of tens of thousands of people. Criticise me if you want for being out of my mind with rage, but I've just watched 40,000 people die.
The star said that he is "physically okay" but, "emotionally I don't know."
He said: "I don't think that anyone living outside of New York can really understand what it's like here - 40,000 people worked in those buildings, 40,000 people with family and friends, 40,000 people. And all the rescue workers."
