Radiohead's Thom Yorke has said that he 'knows stuff' about MI5 (the UK's
security intelligence agency -
www.mi5.gov.uk).
He believes that he may be targeted by intelligence agents because of his support of
anti-capitalist protesters and civil liberties groups.
He told NME, "I know some stuff about MI5 that would shit your brain. But I can't tell
you, cos they'll do it to me too. Seriously. And I'm not winding you up, either."
On Radiohead's website
(www.radiohead.com) he
posted links to anti-capitalist groups' websites'. He wrote, "I reckon I maybe deserve a
file at MI5 now. Tony [Blair], what do you think?"
An MI5 spokeswoman at the Home Office would not confirm whether Thom has an
MI5 file. She said, "We just don't comment on operational information on
individuals."
